Maximizing Decision Model Performance
This article helps you understand:
How to ensure maximum performance
Avoiding sub-optimal performance through structuring
How to test performance as you build
Decision Models are in real-time, not near real-time. To ensure maximum performance, we've consolidated everything we've learned (apart from the real outliers) into our Decision Model Performance Guidelines and Decision Model Best Practices.
Best Practice Tip
Test as you build. A fast trick (that wasn't always available) is the ability to test the speed of the Decision Model Variant within the Test Canvas feature. The Sitecore CDP app shows you how many milliseconds it's currently taking the Decision Model Variant to compile and execute Decision Tables, Programmable Decisions, as well as Data Systems and AI Models.
There are some obvious guidelines to follow, and not all of them are based on the amount of external connections. Sometimes it's down to how you've structured your Decision Model. The biggest culprit of bad structures we've seen is when there is more than one ultimate decision, as noted in Decision Model Best Practices.
