It's all about Connections
This article helps you understand:
When to start creating Connections
Required User Role for creating Connections
Where Connections are used in the Sitecore CDP App
After you've got your website tagged and Sitecore CDP is ingesting your data, you can start setting up Connections. You should do this before your organization starts building Triggered Experiences or creating Decision Models.
A Sitecore CDP Technical Consultant can also do this for you, but you're just as enabled to set up the Connections yourself provided you have an Enterprise Admin role in the Sitecore CDP App. You can connect to any destination provided that it has a RESTful Interface and you use a JSON request.
If you're building Decision Models, you'll have to set up Connections to Artificial Intelligence Platforms and Data Systems to make them available to other users on the Decision Palette.
Another common Connection to make is to an Email Service Provider (ESP). For example, a Triggered Experience can send personalized emails to an ESP for distribution.
The conditions and personalized message or content is invoked as an HTTP GET or POST request against a Webhook. A Webhook is a connection to a predefined REST endpoint to an Email Service Provider (ESP) or SMS/Push Service Provider.
